Information Transfer wins national industry award for the third year in the category “best e-learning project securing widespread adoption”
Information Transfer and Care Management Group won the 2009 E-Learning Award in November last year for the “Best e-learning project securing widespread adoption.”
“We’re delighted to have won the award again” says Owen Rose, Managing Partner with Information Transfer. “CMG have been a brilliant client to work with. Their total commitment to the project has really helped us to drive adoption of e-learning within their organisation.”
“And of course, we’re especially pleased to have maintained our 100 percent record in this award category – winning with all three entries we’ve made over the years,” Owen added. “Each of these entries has been founded on our experience and capability in delivering e-learning solutions that engage stakeholders and are aligned with business needs – these are key factors for driving adoption”.
Previous wins in this category were for extensive e-learning implementations at Priory Group and at Superquinn, the Irish supermarket chain.
The solution for CMG is Fulfilling Potential – a corporate blended learning programme with e-learning at its heart. It combines bespoke content, learning management technology and offline learning activities. It delivers consistent training messages, which incorporate CMG vision and values. By aligning with business objectives, understanding the needs of the learners and sympathetic use of technology, Fulfilling Potential
has made a real difference to the organisation. From a business with no technical infrastructure in September 2008, CMG is now using bespoke e-learning across the whole group to improve performance, reduce risk and embed a revived corporate culture.
CMG is a healthcare business. Staff are carers, so technology is not an everyday part of their work. But adoption of e-learning has been fantastic. Usage figures, approval ratings, performance enhancements and return on investment all show the extent to which e-learning is now embedded within the business.
David Spruzen, CEO at CMG, sums this up: “Fulfilling Potential has had a huge impact for CMG. And beyond learning and development, that impact goes right to the core of our values.”

Building a commercial e-learning offering
Information Transfer partner, Matthew Borg, delivered a seminar entitled ‘Building a commercial e-learning offering from the ground up’ to a large audience at Learning Technologies in January. The brief seminar covered tips and lessons learned over the more than 15 years Information Transfer has been supporting organisations involved in e-learning for commercial enterprise.
“Many experienced training providers are now exploring e-learning as a means of expanding their offering to customers, often broadening from traditional classroom training,” Matt said. “We feel we’re well-placed to help them achieve this step, and a number of commercial training providers have already partnered with Information Transfer and used the Seminar Learning System tools to develop very successful e-learning offerings”.
Matt’s presentation has been written up into a paper and is available via the Seminar website.
Bayer HealthCare
Information Transfer is working with Bayer HealthCare to support the UK launch of Sativex, Bayer's novel cannabinoid add-on treatment for spasticity in multiple sclerosis.
The Sativex team was faced with the task of developing a fully operational launch campaign within 18 weeks, a process which would normally take 18 months. The introduction of a new brand to the portfolio required a new way of working both internally and externally. And the nature of Sativex brought its own specific hurdles which needed to be addressed.
For the training materials the content, tone and flexibility were paramount in ensuring a deep, continual understanding of both the disease area and Sativex, enabling the field force to maximise the full potential in gaining patient access.
To successfully meet this challenge, Information Transfer has created comprehensive distance and classroom learning materials and assessments to ensure that the field force understand and can communicate how Sativex will bring real benefits to people suffering from unrelieved spasticity in MS. These have been very well received by the Bayer training team.
Magnox South
Information Transfer is developing a suite of modules on Defuelling, Decommissioning and Technology for Magnox South sites, following the success of their first e-learning course on Project Management. The new module will give technical experts, engineers and business staff a better understanding of the issues and processes central to the decommissioning process, and how these relate to Magnox South sites.
