Information Transfer and Superquinn have been awarded the prestigious E-Learning Award for 'Best Project Securing Widespread Adoption'. This is the second year in a row that Information Transfer has taken top prize in this hotly contested category.
Superquinn, the Irish supermarket chain, decided to provide online training for all colleagues in their 23 stores. Working with Information Transfer, they successfully launched more than 25 online modules and assessments to more than 4,000 colleagues.
An extensive communications plan and thorough training for managers and staff ensured that everyone was keen to get started with this novel form of personal development. In some stores uptake topped 90% within 3 months of going live.
The judges commended the project for "doing the right things in the right way to achieve widespread adoption ... adopting a strong learning brand, clever targeting and communications planning." They were impressed by the users' very positive views of the programme.
"We're enormously pleased to have been recognised for this collaboration," said Debbie Ganz, the Information Transfer consultant spearheading the project. "And to win the award for a second time confirms the value Information Transfer brings to such projects."
Two Information Transfer teams gave their all in a race to raise money for the Arthur Rank Hospice at Home service. Nearly 400 Cambridge companies took part in the 16th annual Chariots of Fire relay race on 23 September 2007.
The event has raised half a million pounds over the last 16 years for a wide variety of charitable causes in and around Cambridge. It has grown from a modest race involving a few hundred runners to being one of the region's largest annual charity events involving nearly 2,500 runners.
The event is based on the famous film of the same name, which tells the true story of British athletes preparing for and competing in the 1924 Summer Olympics and includes the Trinity Great Court run. In the spirit of the film, the Chariots of Fire race also takes its route through the Cambridge colleges, encompassing Trinity, Clare and Kings.
"We really enjoy taking part in this event," said Matthew Borg, one of the partners at Information Transfer. "It's great for the charity, it's a good team-building event for Information Transfer and a chance for our families to get together — and a little exercise never hurt anyone." (We won't mention that actually it did hurt the next morning...)
Information Transfer and Priory Group have been awarded a prestigious National Training Award in the South East region for their Clinical Risk Assessment training programme. The programme is a fundamental part of Priory's internal clinical risk assessment procedures, reaching 2,300 staff across 24 healthcare sites.
The training meets a critical business need for Priory. It takes a blended approach, combining an online learning module and assessment with practical on-the-job activities to help staff localise learning objectives within their working environment.
"The primary objective of this material is to enhance CRA for the safety of service users, staff and the general public," said Professor Kevin Gournay, CBE, Emeritus Professor at King's College, London. "As such it is a resource of which Priory can be justifiably proud."
Catherine Molloy, consultant at Information Transfer, said, "We are delighted to win this award which recognises the significant benefits arising from the training. It's also a reflection on the strength of the partnership between Priory Group and Information Transfer and the exceptional learning environment Priory Group has created for its staff."
Information Transfer and Priory Group received their award from Fame Academy's David Grant at the South East Regional Ceremony on 11 October 2007.
Induction e-learning for Cotswold Outdoor
Multi-award winning retailer Cotswold Outdoor has chosen to work with Information Transfer to introduce e-learning across more than 25 stores nationwide. The retailer maintains one of the most comprehensive ranges of outdoor clothing and equipment in the UK, and had a need to extend their learning and development provision to a rapidly increasing number of staff. Cotswold was keen to develop online learning as part of their blended approach to induction training.
With no prior experience of e-learning, Cotswold selected Information Transfer to create two initial e-learning modules - a Welcome to Cotswold Outdoor module covering a range of induction topics, and a Manual Handling awareness module and quiz. Information Transfer also set up an online learning management system to enable Cotswold to deliver their own content and track usage of their new online learning provision.
"E-learning is a perfect fit for Cotswold Outdoor", said Information Transfer partner Youri Dabrowski. "The initial e-learning content we're creating will enable them to deliver new courses to their staff within a short space of time, and reduce the need to travel across the country inducting new staff."
Online Induction for Tube Lines
We're delighted that Tube Lines have chosen Information Transfer to develop an online induction training package for all new joiners to their organisation. Staff development is at the heart of Tube Lines' values, as they work to deliver one of the world's biggest capital investment programmes in transport.
"For Tube Lines, finding the right partner to support their move into online learning was essential," said Owen Rose, partner at Information Transfer. "After a rigorous selection process, what clinched it was Information Transfer's experience in building user engagement, as well as delivering outstanding content and systems."
Neighbourhood Watch
The Home Office's Crime Strategy Unit and Hertfordshire Constabulary have asked Information Transfer to work with them on the development of a new toolkit for Neighbourhood Watch groups. As well as producing documents that can be downloaded from the Home Office website, we will be creating an online learning module on security in the home and improving the safety of the local neighbourhood.
We have delivered 25 years' worth of e-learning in the last 5 years!
Information Transfer's e-learning management systems, including the award-winning Seminar Knowledge Centre, reached a significant milestone this quarter, having now delivered more than 25 years' worth of completed e-learning hours.
Since 2002, Information Transfer clients have delivered more than one million e-learning assignments through the company's online learning management technology.
"The 25 years' of e-learning is the equivalent of running classroom training round-the-clock, 7 days a week, for 25 years," said Youri Dabrowski, partner at Information Transfer. "This shows one of the great benefits of e-learning: training that is accessible anywhere, any time, and that allows for an organisation to train thousands of people in a short space of time."
Clients who have recently selected the Knowledge Centre to deliver their e-learning include Abbott, Tube Lines, Organon-Schering-Plough and Cotswold Outdoor.
